Cinco de mayo weekend

Cinco de mayo weekend begins today. That's Spanish for 5th of may, a Mexican holiday. A rare Friday night race (TGi5k) occurred preceding today. I have to skip work in order to make this one due to time and distance (downtown palm beach), so I had to pass on it. Note: I have done it before and the event itself was fun; not the travel nor the parking.

Saturday agenda-race?

Here is what I considered for this day:

1. Jupiter turtle trot 5k
2. Haiti 5k for hope
3. big cardio 5k
4. deltas on the run 5k
5. margarita miler 5k

I passed on the latter because I couldn't find out where or what time it started. The former was furthest in distance. I picked #3.

Clint eastwood synopsis:

The good: podium (by the grace of God)
The bad: didn't win (3rd due to illness), no finisher medals, cotton t
The ugly: worst time of the year thusfar (3rd due to illness)

Sunday agenda-race?

Here is what I considered for that day (after the holiday):

1. flying pig marathon
2. music for healing 5k
3. westglades superhero 5k
4. wings for life

You can automatically rule out the former (out of FL). I picked the latter. It was an interesting event. It is known as the world run because the event start simultaneously in 35+ countries. The finish line catches you; what? There is no standard finish line like in standard races but rather each person gets a half hour head start before the catcher car is dispatched. Once it passes you, your race is officially terminated! I ran the first 5k faster than the previous day despite not really trying to; that brings hope for me.
