You can automatically rule out the former (out of FL). Without a swimmer I couldn't do the latter either; training time!

You can automatically rule out the former (out of FL), so I did the latter. Clint time:

The bad: later start, weather (hot), 10 yr age
The ugly: no finisher medal, didn't place, sick

Here is what I found on the first Saturday of the month:

1. labor day 5k
2. save the jaguars 5k

This one was pick your poison for me: The former is very fast but is closest in proximity; the latter has ten year age groups and is the furthest. Yep, I picked the former and got the expected results in terms of the podium; not! However, I didn't help the cause with the excessive walking and the stop to my car (to drop off tshirt since I couldn't return to car from packet pickup); that was the first time I ever did that! Another disappointment was I got a finisher medal that was not as promised (they said it will be mailed).

You can automatically rule out the former (out of FL). I normally do the latter but missed because I was out of town. Instead, I trained, visited friends and went to the 10th annual and final pig roast.

Monday agenda-race?

It is rare to race on a Monday but it is a holiday for most; I found 2:

1. canes cross country 5k
2. john clay 5k

I was in the area for both, which were on the FL west coast but opted to train instead.

although none in my county, the latter was the closest in proximity. The former was the furthest, while the next was an inaugural.
